Frequently Asked Question
How do I add a non-Countermail public key?
Last Updated 8 years ago
First you must make sure that your friend already use PGP, otherwise you can't add any key. If your friend use Countermail, you don't have to add any key, the key is then automatically added.
1. Select and Copy your friends public key block into clipboard (memory):
(here is an example how a public key block looks like: https://countermail.com/images/pubkey_block.png)
If your friend has attached the key as a file, you must first download it from the
email and then open the file with some text editor, like Notepad or
Wordpad.
2. Click on the "Contacts"-button in the upper menu
3. Enter the email address in the E-mail field, the email must be connected to the public key*
4. Paste the public key into the Public key-field
5. Click on [Add contact]
