1. Start Pidgin and add an account.
Choose Add

3. Enter your Username and Password. Please click here to see how to access your chat settings
Local alias is the name that your contact will see (this could for instance be your nickname).

4. Make sure that the port is either 5222 (TLS encryption) or 5223 (SSL encryption)

5. Now it should look something like this, choose Close and you're ready to start a new Chat!
